Privacy Policy

Your Devotion is Sacred, and So is Your Privacy

Introduction

Welcome to ShivaDarshan. We are dedicated to connecting devotees with the divine presence of Lord Shiva through our website (shivadarshan.live) and our Android Application. This policy outlines how we respect the sanctity of your personal data while providing a seamless spiritual experience.

Location Data Usage

To fulfill our primary mission of locating nearby Shiva Temples and Jyotirlingas, ShivaDarshan requires access to your location information.

How we use it: Our app uses Fine and Coarse Location permissions to calculate the real-time distance between your current position and the nearest sacred site. This allows us to provide navigation and "Nearby Darshan" alerts. We do not store your movement history on our servers.

Information We Collect

Device ID: To ensure the app works correctly on your specific Android version.
Search Queries: To help us understand which temples are most visited to improve our database.
Crash Logs: To maintain a stable, bug-free environment for your spiritual journey.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to enhance your experience:

Google Maps/OpenStreetMap: To visualize temple locations on a map.
Nominatim: To convert your coordinates into a readable address for temple descriptions.
Open Topo Data: To calculate the altitude and elevation of mountain shrines (Kailash, Kedarnath, etc).

Data Deletion & Retention

You have full control over your data. If you wish to delete any stored preferences or account information, you may do so directly within the app settings or by contacting our support team. We only retain data as long as necessary to provide spiritual services.
